When the first World War erupted, demand rose sharply for these novel watches as Allied servicemen needed a more suitable way to a access their vital timepieces.
At the close the of the war, watch company's continued further down the path of having wristwatches eventually replace pocket watches as the timepiece of choice.
At the heart of the Art Deco era, shortly after their release of the very first Oyster watches and before they began to specialize in mostly sport watches, Rolex crafted dress wristwatches of very fine quality.
