Seamaster Chronometers made post 1952 are one of Omega's seldom seen vintage watches. They featured all of the rugged spottiness of the Seamaster line coupled with an officially certified chronometer movement.
After their release and after Omega divided the line into two models in 1952, the "plain" Seamaster, a sport watch without chronometer certification, and the Constellation, the higher-end chromometer option, Omega only made a relatively few Seamaster Chronometers.
It measures 35mm in diameter without the crown, in between the size of a Rolex Date and a Rolex Datejust.
We were fortunate to acquire it in all-original down to the untouched dial, hands, winding crown, original crystal, and even original buckle - but even more so as time capsule watch.
It is in near new-old-stock condition and appears to have spent virtually all of its life safely stored away. Its full size case, which has never been polished, is in mint condition. And its untouched original dial is mint.
Powering the watch is its uncommon caliber 1011 officially certified chronometer movement.
One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it. It was the first time the watch had been opened since leaving the factory.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
Any Seamaster chronometer is a very fine watch with truly impressive capabilities. The only thing better is finding a very rare time capsule example.
